  • In this activity, you:
    • Loaded new AAA batteries into the battery holder.
    • Connected the battery holder to the Edge I/O Adapter.
    • Tested the voltage to make sure the batteries have enough charge.

  1. How many volts are supplied by the USB?
  2. What is the necessary minimum voltage to power the servo?
  3. Mathematically speaking, batteries that are connected in series combine their voltage in what way?
  4. What does it mean for the voltage supply to be regulated?
  5. Why does the USB not supply its full voltage supply to the breadboard?

 

Exercise

  • How many 1.5 V batteries are in a battery pack that supplies 6 V?
     

Project

  • Probe the right bus strip’s (+) and (-) rails to measure the voltage. What is your result and why?
